CFS, IIUM

IIUM

Hye and assalamualaikum !

Welcome to UIA ?! hehehehe ((gelak sinis)). I write this to help those who had confusion abt our university. I had this confusion last year before entering IIUM like I do searched for informations but what's left was things from years back that aren't valid anymore ! 

For the batch 2015/2016, foundation students were situated at 3 campuses ; Centre For Foundation Studies Petaling Jaya, Gambang Campus ((this should be the new CFS but they probably have problem on this)) and the Main Campus, Gombak.

CFS PJ - All arts courses and some science courses

Gambang Campus - science students with duration of studies more than 1 year

Gombak Campus - Economics students ONLY

This will PROBABLY be the same as for the batch 2016/2017 for the first and second semesters.  This is due to we are about to return back the PJ campus to the real owner and that is non of your problem ! You have to register yourself at the campus that had been mentioned in your offer letter either at CFS PJ or Gambang . Don't go to Gombak. That is not where you are belong to. ((and fyi, we got no Nilai Campus anymore yaa))

Ta'aruf week ? (TAWE)

Most relaxing orientation week you will ever experience ((tapi serious lah bosan kot)). You have to sit for English Placement Test (EPT), Arabic Placement Test (APT), Fardhu ayn test and Tilawah Quran ((for those who are not from islamic sec. school))

For those who never learn arabic, the APT test will be damn hard as you will not understand any single thing on the test paper but it's okay cause the most important for IIUM is your english test, you have to get exempted or at least band 5 to have a shorter period of foundation studies.

 p/s : this table exclude those courses that needs arabic/english as their main subject

For the basic level, EPT levels are up to level 6 and APT will only have 2 levels

next, the fardhu ayn and tilawah tests are to determine your class either to be in the study circle, fardhu ayn class or tilawah class. These classes will be conducted in particular semester as stated in your course registration slip later.

Change course kak ? 

Wahhhh this is your favourite question lah kan. As for new student, if you really really really wish to be in IIUM, got the offer but not for your required course, don't worry cause during the orientation week, they will announce a slot for any student to change their courses and it will be based on your SPM result and consideration from IIUM and yeah it's not as easy as you think. You must have a strong valid reason(s). Other methods of changing course other than this, go explore IIUM by yourselves.

Alhamdulillah it had never cross my mind to change my course to any other. I love economics and wanted to be in the Kuliyyah soon !!

For sisters, white scarve is important for TAWE or else you'll be wearing the one given by IIUM. You have to wear it throughout the week. KAIN PUTIH as stated in the letter, don't have to be so lurus lah nak belah belah tepi apelah, it's okay to have whatever kind of style as long as it is white and bukan belah tengah ;P 
***I just received a new information saying that 2016/2017 intake will no longer need white skirt but BLACK. Regarding to this matter, please refer to your official letter and follow what had been stated there.

Don't expect all will be wearing that bidang 60' / bulat tudung yaa ((normally budak course agama je))
